Once your new version of Picasa has imported your library, you can uninstall the old version. 2. When you first install the program prompts you to scan your computer for images and create a library for you. Be careful here. Unless you give some limits, Picasa add all the images on your hard drive to the library. It will prompt you to import your database of existing library. Select “Yes” if you do.
