The following instructions will install the necessary steps: * Oracle Forms and Reports 8i * Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 3 (8.1.7). This guide is based on the following: * You have Windows NT 4.0 or 2000 is installed on your computer with a power-saving features disabled for the installation period. Building an Oracle database can take some time and you do not want your machine to hibernate in the middle of the database creation. * You have no other Oracle software installed. * You change drive locations fit your environment.

The following instructions will install Oracle Forms:

1. Enter the Oracle installer component CD-ROM. If the Oracle installer does not start automatically you can manually start the installer by opening the file setup.exe found on the Oracle Forms and Reports 6i installation CD.
2. Click OK
3. Oracle installation settings
* In the Company Name field the name of the company (this field can be anything the user wants).
* In the Name field type dev6i
* In the Location field type [drive]: \ dev6i. [drive] is the PC’s hard drive where the Oracle software will be installed.
* Accept English as the default
4. Click OK to continue
5. Select Oracle Forms Developer option button
