When the laptop is in the docking station, these are the primary ports that will be used. The power, network, external monitor, mouse and keyboard should be connected at all times. There are additional USB ports on the rear and left side of the PR. The network and power cables plug into the indicated ports. If there are external USB devices that need to be connected, use either the USB ports on the rear, or the lower port on the right side of the PR.

The right side of the PR is where the anti-theft lock is located. The slide switch locks the laptop to the PR; then the security cable is attached in the cable slot. The cable cannot be inserted in the slot unless the switch is in the locked position. Docking Your Laptop with the Docking Station
1. Save and close any open files and exit any open programs, including IGPro, SASI and, ClassXP. It is not necessary to shut down the laptop.
2. Make sure your wireless connection is disabled.
3. If security cable is attached, use the key to unlock it, and remove the security cable lock from the docking station’s slot (2 in Figure 1).
4. Move the slide lock (1 in Figure 1) towards the back of the docking station to the unlocked position.
5. Hold the laptop by its sides and center it against the backstop of the docking station (4 in Figure 1). Lower the laptop and move it slightly from side to side until you feel it seat on the alignment posts (3 in Figure 1).
6. As shown in Figure 2, push down over the laptop’s hinges until the laptop clicks into place on the docking station.
7. Move the slide lock towards the front of the docking station to its locked position. Insert security cable into the docking station slot and push the button on the lock to secure the docking station.
8. After docking, if the computer is on, the power light on the monitor stand (seen in Figure 3) will turn from amber to green. If the laptop is not turned on, the eject button will be green. Press the power button on the monitor stand. If the laptop does not turn on successfully, undock and reseat the laptop. Important:
ONLY press down over the laptop’s hinges to avoid physical damage. If there are no indicator lights on the monitor stand, make sure the power cord is connected and plugged in.
The other components of the docking station should be attached and ready to use. If necessary, power on the monitor. When docking and undocking, it is not necessary to shut down the laptop. Undocking Your Laptop
1. Save and close any open files and exit any open programs, including IGPro, SASI and, ClassXP. It is not necessary to shut down the laptop.
2. In Windows XP, click the Start button and click on Undock Computer, OR press the undock button on the monitor stand (1 in Figure 3). Wait for the eject button to turn green (2 in Figure 3).
3. Remove security cable by unlocking it with the key and remove security cable lock from the docking station’s slot.
4. Move the slide lock towards the back of the docking station and press the large eject button on the docking station (2 in Figure 4).
5. Remove laptop, and reinstall security cable to secure the docking station.
Note: After the eject button turns green, the light flashes during a short delay before returning the system to a docked state. If the light has gone off, push the undock button again. Using Your Laptop with a Promethean Board
1. Start by undocking your laptop with the “Undocking Your laptop” instructions.
2. After removing your laptop, locate the monitor port on the back of the laptop (1 in Figure 5).
3. Plug monitor cable from projector into the laptop’s monitor port.
4. Open your laptop and locate the key called “Fn” seen in Figure 6 and the F8 key seen in figure 7.
5. Press and hold the “Fn” key and press F8 once or until the laptop and the projector show the same screen. It could take up to 5
seconds to appear on the Promethean board.
