BlackBerry Frequently Asked Questions PDF Manual Guide
I just purchased a BlackBerry and my numbers are not on my agenda! How can I copy all my SIM contacts to my calendar? When I put the new numbers in my schedule, how can I copy all my numbers to SIM memory? If you are using a BlackBerry for the first time, the best thing to do is use the Setup Wizard. (Note: With software version 4.5 or higher, is the Setup Wizard in the installation folder.)
The Setup Wizard guides you through a series of useful things such as reducing memory space on the device, and copying all the phone numbers the SIM card to Contacts. However, if you have added new contacts to the SIM card or contacts and want to copy these manually. Unless you are changing the SIM card back and forth between a BlackBerry and a cell phone, we recommend that you save your contacts to your contact list and not the SIM, and regular backups of the files using the software BlackBerry Desktop that came on a CD with your new device.
A quick way to give and receive PIN numbers with the contacts is to write an email to the person wishing to obtain the PIN number and body of the message type: mypin and press the spacebar. Your PIN will automatically fill in your email. You can then send and ask your contact to do the same and email back to you. Once you get your PIN again in an email, all you have to do is scroll around, copy it and add it to your contact in your address book. Then follow steps 1 through 5.
